The “Colorful Harmony Joint Exhibition” showcases the works of the senior oil painting class members from the Shuangtan Community in Sanyi, created over the course of a year in their oil painting sessions. Additionally, some pieces are the creative results of the weekend stress-relief painting class participants.
Sanyi is a slow-living town where many retirees step out of their homes to engage in enriching activities like oil painting, allowing them to lead a fulfilling life beyond television. These students, guided by community initiatives, began exploring oil painting three years ago and have since discovered a sense of accomplishment and enjoyment in the process.
Ms. Lai Yi-Yun, a native of Sanyi, returned to her hometown after many years to care for her mother. At the same time, she brought her passion for painting back to her community, sharing the joy of creative expression and providing a diverse and vibrant artistic outlet for the local seniors.
This exhibition features a variety of themes, including flowers, birds, and landscapes. The floral works showcase the romantic spirit that still resides within the hearts of the senior artists. The animal series includes symbolic pieces, such as fledglings representing new hope and a blue magpie reflecting environmental consciousness. The landscapes capture scenic moments from group outings, local beauty, and the awe-inspiring grandeur of nature. Each piece reflects the artists’ inner expressions and unique perspectives.
The Colorful Harmony Joint Exhibition runs from January 1, 2025, to March 1, 2025, at No. 27, Zhongzheng Road, Sanyi Township, Miaoli County. Visits are by appointment, and guided tours can be arranged on-site.
We warmly invite everyone to gather friends and visit the exhibition to cheer on and support these talented senior artists. Let the joy of painting and the colorful harmony they bring spread to even more places.
